Trauma-informed psychotherapy and support for survivors of complex trauma from psychological, emotional, and spiritual/religious abuse.

A nurturing space to heal, restore, and move toward thriving in San Antonio, Texas | 210-382-4155

I am an intersectional, trauma-focused, Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, coach, consultant, speaker, and artist. I hold nurturing space for adolescents, adults, professionals, and couples from diverse cultural, spiritual, faith, gender, sexuality, ability, identities to explore, heal, and enrich their lives. It is important to me to work within the framework of your values and I invite you to bring the whole of yourself into our sessions together. With compassionate care, centered in truth and kindness, and empowering encouragement I will walk with you through the difficult questions, challenging circumstances, and uncertain seasons.

I have extensive experience working with survivors of psychological and spiritual/religious abuse; complex trauma (sexual violence, childhood/developmental trauma, interpersonal violence); and complex PTSD. I’m certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Seeking Safety Evidence Based Practices; I utilize trauma-informed assessment and interventions with my clients.

I love to engage clients in creative process using visual art, poetry, collage, art journaling, writing prompts, and movement.  There are places in our brain that have no language for what we feel and remember and think and know, creative process connects us to those parts of ourselves and shifts the stuckness of trauma to free us into deeper healing.  You don’t have to know anything about art or creating to use this process with me.  Part of our healing and recovery process includes learning how to play and wonder again.  Creative play gives us space to explore, make mistakes, paint over them, try again, practice, and in our resilience, we make beauty out of our pain.

Remember the PSA campaign on television years ago, “The More you Know?”  I believe that the more we understand the way our brains and bodies respond to trauma, grief, and loss, the better equipped we are to cultivate sustainability in our healing practices.  I love to incorporate psychoeducation, articles, and resources into my work with clients because I believe that knowledge and understanding empowers us.  I’m in the business of cultivating educated empaths 🙂

I believe you are the expert of your own mind, body, soul, and spirit; I will hold space for you to empower yourself–within your own values and identity–to embrace your expertise and guide your life toward the goals and dreams you foster.
